Terms of Use for the Polls App

1. Overview

The Polls app allows authorised Zoom users to export poll content to simple text-based JSON files and import compatible poll files into Zoom.

This makes it possible to reuse, transfer and share polls between Zoom accounts, including accounts belonging to different organisations or enterprises.

By using this app, you agree to these Terms of Use.

2. Intended Use

The app is designed to help users:

  • Export supported Zoom polls to JSON files.

  • Import compatible JSON poll files into Zoom.

  • Reuse polls across different Zoom meetings, accounts or organisations.

  • Share poll content with other authorised users.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the appropriate permissions to access, export, import and share any poll content you use with the app.

3. Poll Content and Exported Files

Exported files are intended to contain only the information required to recreate the poll, including:

  • Poll titles and settings.

  • Questions.

  • Available answers or choices.

  • Other supported poll configuration information.

Exported files are not intended to contain participant information, poll responses or poll results.

In particular, the app does not intentionally export:

  • Details of people who have participated in a poll.

  • Individual responses or answers.

  • Poll results.

  • Participant screen names, email addresses or other participant information.

Once an exported file has been downloaded, copied or shared, AppsCetera has no control over how that file is subsequently stored, modified, distributed or used.

4. User Responsibility

You are responsible for the polls and other content that you export, import or share using the app.

You agree:

  • To use the app only for lawful and authorised purposes.

  • Not to export or distribute poll content that you do not have permission to use or share.

  • To check imported polls before using them in a live meeting, webinar, event, examination, assessment or other important activity.

  • To ensure that poll questions, answers and settings are correct after importing them.

  • To share exported files only with appropriate recipients.

AppsCetera does not monitor or control the content of polls created, imported or shared by users.

5. Imported Files

You should only import poll files from sources that you trust.

AppsCetera cannot guarantee that files which have been created, edited or modified outside the app will:

  • Be valid.

  • Contain the expected information.

  • Be compatible with the current version of the app.

  • Import correctly into Zoom.

  • Produce exactly the same poll configuration as the original.

The app may reject files that are invalid, incompatible or do not contain the expected poll structure.

6. Zoom Functionality and Compatibility

The Polls app uses functionality provided through Zoom APIs and services.

Zoom may change, restrict, replace or discontinue APIs, poll formats, account features or other functionality at any time.

As a result:

  • Some poll features may not be available on all Zoom accounts.

  • Certain poll types or settings may not transfer exactly between accounts.

  • Changes made by Zoom may temporarily or permanently affect the app’s functionality.

  • An exported poll created at one time may not always remain fully compatible with future versions of Zoom.

Users should always review imported polls before using them.

AppsCetera is an independent software developer and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of Zoom Communications, Inc.

7. Data Use and Privacy

The app processes only the information necessary to provide its functionality.

Poll export files are intended to contain the poll content and configuration required to recreate a poll and not participant responses or poll results.

Personal information processed in connection with authentication, account access or operation of the app is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

8. Intellectual Property

AppsCetera retains all rights in the Polls application, including its software, design, branding and associated materials.

You retain responsibility for and ownership of the poll content that you create or import, subject to any rights held by third parties.

Using the app does not transfer ownership of your poll content to AppsCetera.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the necessary rights and permissions to use and distribute any poll content that you export or share.

9. Availability and Changes to the App

We aim to keep the app available and functioning correctly, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.

We may update, modify, suspend or discontinue parts of the app where reasonably necessary, including:

  • To maintain security or reliability.

  • To respond to changes made by Zoom.

  • To comply with legal or platform requirements.

  • To improve or change the functionality of the app.

10. Pricing and Charges

Operating, hosting, maintaining and supporting the Polls app involves ongoing costs.

We currently intend to provide access to the app free of charge until 31 December 2026.

However, AppsCetera reserves the right to introduce charges, subscriptions, usage limits or paid service levels for the app from 1 January 2027 onwards.

If pricing is introduced:

  • We will publish details of the applicable charges before they take effect.

  • Users will not be charged retrospectively for previous use of the app.

  • Where payment is required for continued use, users will be given the opportunity to decide whether they wish to continue using the paid service.

  • Different features, usage levels or account types may be offered under different free or paid plans.

We may also continue to offer a free version or free level of service alongside paid options, but we do not guarantee that the app will remain free indefinitely.

Continued use of any paid service after accepting the applicable pricing or subscription terms will constitute agreement to those charges.

11. Limitations and Liability

The app is provided “as is” and is intended as a convenience for transferring and managing poll content.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, AppsCetera is not responsible for losses or problems resulting from:

  • Incorrect or incomplete poll imports.

  • Modified, corrupted or incompatible JSON files.

  • Changes to Zoom APIs, services or functionality.

  • User error.

  • Poll content being shared with an unintended recipient.

  • The subsequent use, modification or distribution of an exported file.

  • Reliance on an imported poll without checking its content first.

You are responsible for reviewing imported poll content and confirming that it is suitable and accurate before using it.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability or legal rights that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

12. Suspension or Misuse

We may restrict or suspend access to the app where we reasonably believe:

  • The app is being used unlawfully.

  • Its security is being compromised or abused.

  • A user is attempting to interfere with the service.

  • Continued access would breach applicable law or third-party platform requirements.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the app, Zoom functionality, applicable law or our services.

The latest version of these Terms will be published with an updated effective date.

Continued use of the app after updated Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of those updated Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

Nothing in these Terms affects any mandatory legal rights that may apply to you under applicable law.
